A lot of us are used to playing the standard game of blackjack. Blackjack Switch is one of the many variations to the original game of blackjack.
Before anything else, let us have a review of the standard blackjack game. The objective of blackjack is to get a total of 21 without exceeding that number and beating the dealer.
Players are given two cards each along with the dealer. All cards are equivalent to their face value, face cards are counted as 10 and aces can have a value of 1 or 11 whichever will make your hand a favorable one. The player makes the first move and you have the option to hit, stand or fold.
When you're done with your choice and did not bust (going over 21), the dealer makes his move. Typically they must total a minimum of 17. What this means is when the dealer has 17 or more they must stop taking cards. Thus a dealer hitting and making 17 can not take another card even if there are players beating him.
All players who have a higher hand than the dealer but not over 21 are then winners. If both player and/or dealer have a face card and an ace it is called a blackjack. If the player gets a blackjack he is paid out 3:2 on their bet.
These are the basic rules. This variation has been played for a long time and is the favorite variation of blackjack. But recently, casino operators made attempts to add some more variations. Blackjack Switch is one of these variations.
Blackjack Switch permits players with 2 hands and an even bet on every hand to change the second card dealt on one hand to the other. This can make two bad hands into a profitable hand. However, there is one catch.
There are two rules which aim to equalize the favor gained by the switching player. The first rule is when the dealer accumulates a total of 22 then it is a push or draw. In standard games, a dealer gets busted when he scores a 22 which translates into a win for you. The next rule is that instead of a 3:2 percentage there is now an equal money payout.
Only the second card can be switched. Suppose you receive a 6 5 and a 5 7, you can switch the 5 and 7 to create a more favorable hand. In most situations, judgment as to whether or not card switching should be done is a matter of self-explanation, but thorough computations they are much more complicated.
Blackjack switch can be played online. Compared to standard blackjack, the odds in blackjack switch are minimally better although the benefits could be a borderline case.
It really does not matter which type of game you play but Blackjack Switch can be an excellent alternative to traditional blackjack.
